Range and Habitat:
Chondrichthyans live or can be found in many various types of places. They mostly live in oceanic and marine ecosystems. They can be found in many different levels or depths of the ocean or sea. Another place where species of the chondrichthyes can be found is in fresh water environments but the amount of these species living in freshwater is much less. Only about 5% of the different chondrichthyes species live in fresh water environments. The different levels or depths where chondrichthyans can be found are up to 200m deep, 200-2000m deep and just open ocean. The different species live in and accommodate to these conditions of its habitat. About 50% of the chondrichthyan population live in the depths up to 200m, about 35% in the 200-2000m range and 5% inhabit the open ocean. When they inhabit the open ocean it means that they roam to many different parts and depths of the ocean. Chondrichthyes can live up to a very deep range but won't be able to survive in very extreme conditions such as very high salt concentrations or where very low amounts of oxygem are attained.
